EVENTS SERVICES COORDINATOR

The Club is a member only club located atop Red Mountain and is presently hiring an experienced Event Services Coordinator.  This person will be responsible for the planning and coordinating of all aspects of private events and meeting functions held within The Club.  The successful candidate will foster relationships with Members who book events so as to maintain repeat business. This position works closely with the Executive Chef and Banquet Chef when designing custom menus as well as the entire management team to communicate and prepare for upcoming events.

Essential Job Functions:
-Manage and oversee small and large events throughout the club to include:  problem solve, welcome guests, direct event set up, communicate with staff
-Meet with member prior to function, make introductions, ensure all arrangements are agreeable
-Maintain strong member relations and ensure event specifications are communicated and executed for a successful experience for the member and their guests
-Communicate with member, listen to the member’s needs, present ideas and solutions to their requirements
-Read, analyze banquet events order in order to gather member information, determine proper set up, timeline, specific needs, etc.
-Attend all required Food and Beverage Meetings, Employee Partner Meetings and Banquet Event Order Meetings
-Respond to and try to fulfill any special event arrangements
-Obtain feedback from Member/host to guarantee satisfaction

Education and Experience:
-Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, communications, public relations or related field
-Minimum of two years’ experience as a Catering/Private Event coordinator or high volume hotel event planner
-Experience in catering and private event functions.
-Must have practical knowledge of food preparation and social etiquette, especially in regards to private events; basic knowledge of liquor and wine. Knowledgeable of all proper methods of food and beverage service, systems, controls and costs.
-Excellent communication skills
-Ability to work under pressure remaining calm and professional at all times
-Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
-Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is

The Club has been a Birmingham institution for nearly 70 years, with its breathtaking view of the city, unique architecture, and one-of-a kind restaurants and service. Our team provides high levels of service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere to our members with three full service restaurants, bar and lounge, along with a high volume of event activity.

-Must be a self-driven cook/chef who is looking to grow their career
